Steel & Hardware Counter Sales Full Time
We are seeking a practical person to join our shop sales team. Breakwater Metaland specializes in steel & metal sales however our shop has a variety of products such as general hardware, engineering hardware, landscaping, fencing & trailer products.
Our customers come from a variety of trades however we also service retail customers undertaking various DIY jobs around the home. As this is a busy environment you will need to be able to provide exceptional customer service while minimizing customer waiting time.
Previous retail, steel or relevant trade experience is an advantage. Enthusiasm & willingness to learn are important characteristics to succeed in this role.
Position Responsibilities
Counter sales of steel & shop products
Accurately process sales & cash handling
Determination of cutting lists for cut to size metal
Re-stock products on display
Checking & putting away incoming product orders
Maintaining a clean & organized work space
Being proactive in sales
Building and expanding existing customer base
Position Requirements
Strong communication skills to correctly interpret customer's requirements
High level understanding of dimensions and numeracy, and/or mechanical aptitude.
Familiar with the use of computers (Invoices & quotations processed through computers)
Ability to work in a busy environment, cope with interruptions & remain organized is essential.
Ability to follow through on designated tasks
Reliable & Conscientious
Abide by Breakwater Metaland's OH&S Standards and drug/alcohol policy

Internal Sales & Administration

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic sales and administration person to be a part of our growing team.

Who are we?

Breakwater Metaland is successful family owned business that has operated for the last 20 years. We offer a range of products to the steel industry and home handyman. Our services include cut to size steel sales, fabrication and retail sales.

Your role will comprise of the following duties:

  • Processing sales orders and enquiries with accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinating with production staff to maintain a high level of customer service
  • Serving customers in our retail store
  • Assisting the Administration team

  • Ideally will need the following skills and attributes :

  • Positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Good customer services skills with a desire to solve problems
  • A hands-on approach with a interest in how things work
  • The ability to be able to work as a part of a close-knit team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Intermediate computer skills

  • Prior experience is an advantage but not required as we will provide training in all facets of the job.

    This is a permanent position which consists of full-time working hours between 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
